Softball Camp

Camp Director: Josh Terry – McMinnville High School (Head Softball Coach)

General Information

SYL’s “Go Be Great” Softball Camp offers an exciting opportunity for young athletes to develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Whether your child is a beginner or has some experience, the camp focuses on teaching the fundamental aspects of softball, including proper throwing and catching techniques, effective fielding, and mastering the mechanics of hitting and baserunning. The camp breaks down each skill step by step, ensuring all participants can learn and improve, no matter their background in the sport.

More than just softball techniques, “Go Be Great” encourages campers to embrace valuable life lessons. The camp fosters teamwork, teaching athletes the importance of collaboration and how every player plays a role in the team’s success. It also highlights the significance of respect for coaches, teammates, opponents, and the game itself, creating an atmosphere where positive interactions and mutual support are encouraged. Additionally, responsibility is a key focus, motivating campers to take ownership of their growth, honor commitments, and contribute to the team’s overall experience.

The camp is inclusive and fun, designed to help every participant, whether new to the game or more experienced, develop new skills, build a deeper passion for softball, and form lasting friendships. By the end of the camp, each child will leave with improved technical abilities, a sense of pride, and a feeling of camaraderie that will extend well beyond the camp.
