General Information

The day begins early, with the bus departing from McMinnville at 8:00 AM sharp, ensuring a prompt start to an exciting day ahead. The campers, full of anticipation, embark on their journey to Reber’s Riverside, where they will be welcomed with open arms and contagious enthusiasm by the camp organizers and staff. The atmosphere is charged with energy as the children disembark and take in the natural beauty that surrounds them.

The first adventure of the day kicks off as the campers gather their fishing gear, ready to immerse themselves in the tranquility of the private fishing pond. The calm, clear waters serve as the perfect setting for an unforgettable experience. With the help of our passionate and skilled volunteers, the children will be guided through the basics of fishing, learning everything from how to properly cast their lines to the art of patience required in the sport. The volunteers’ patient instructions and encouragement will ensure that every child feels confident and excited about the prospect of catching a fish. The thrill of reeling in a trout is palpable as children pull in their catches, some of which are impressive in size, sparking cheers and high-fives among the group.

After a morning filled with the peaceful rhythm of fishing and the fresh air of the great outdoors, the campers will gather together for a hearty lunch of sizzling burgers and hot dogs. As they enjoy their lunch, campers will reminisce about their morning fishing experiences, laughing and exchanging stories about the one that got away, the big catches, and the peaceful moments spent by the water. The camaraderie built over the shared experience of fishing helps forge new friendships, and the natural environment encourages meaningful conversations about nature, wildlife, and their growing connection to the outdoors.

As the afternoon approaches, the campers’ time at Reber’s Riverside draws to a close. With smiles on their faces and hearts full of joy, they board the bus once again, their minds buzzing with the memories of the day’s activities. The return journey to the McMinnville Drop-Off Site will be filled with lively chatter as the children eagerly share their fishing stories and reflect on the fun they had with their new friends. By 2:30 PM, they will arrive back in McMinnville, their spirits lifted by the excitement of the day. They’ll eagerly look forward to sharing their adventures with their families and already be counting down the days until their next camp event, where new memories and friendships will continue to grow.
