Most Important Aspect of the ‘See Ya Later’ Foundation?
Even though the Kids Camps are so much fun and it’s so exciting watching them have a great time & getting inspired by awesome volunteers, the Seeds of Hope outreach is near to my heart. Walking through difficult times myself, I love to help bring encouragement to families whether in small or big ways. And yet, when we are able to award some outstanding students a college scholarship on behalf of the ‘See Ya Later’ Foundation, it brings so much joy to my soul.
Why Did You Get Involved with the ‘See Ya Later’ Foundation?
Since Scotty passed away and the Foundation began, I have had a determination to make something very good out of something very bad. The Foundation continues to make that happen. If Scotty HAD to die, his death HAS to make a difference in others’ lives.
Most Memorable ‘See Ya Later’ Moment?
One of the most memorable moments was the celebration and Grand Opening of Scotty’s Playhouse! What an awesome memorial and gift to the community.
Where Do You See the Foundation In 5 Years?
In the next 5 years, I see more kids and families encouraged through the many events of the Foundation. I see adding additional staff and more volunteers getting involved and helping coordinate various aspects of the Foundation.
Board ofDirectors
The “See Ya Later” Foundation board of directors was created in 2001 to honor a young man and his dream. Over the last several years they have worked together to build an indoor play area called Scotty’s Playhouse, provide sports camps for 100′s of kids, college scholarships for local high school seniors, and support for families in need during a life-threatening medical crisis.
