Scott's Legacy of Courage & Hope

The “See Ya Later” Foundation, founded in 2001 to honor Scott Banke, a young boy who bravely fought cancer, continues his legacy of hope and support. Inspired by Scott’s joy, love for life, and faith, the foundation’s name comes from a video where he said, “See ya later!” during a Make-A-Wish cruise. Today, it offers sports camps, scholarships, and aid to families facing serious medical challenges, carrying forward Scott’s spirit of kindness and resilience.

Two Chapter Locations

The SYL Foundation began its journey in McMinnville, Oregon in 2001. Just three months after Scott Banke’s passing, the inaugural Scott Banke Memorial Golf Tournament took place. The foundation was officially established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2006. The Oregon Chapter is dedicated to three key programs: Seeds of Hope, the Scholarship Program, and Youth Opportunities.

The Washington Chapter was established in 2011, ten years after the Oregon Chapter, and is led by Brian Williams from Auburn, Washington, who is related to the family of Scott Banke. This chapter concentrates on three key programs: Seeds of Hope and the Scholarship Program.

Meet the Board

Board of Directors

The “See Ya Later” Foundation board of directors was created in 2001 to honor a young man and his dream. Over the last several years they have worked together to build an indoor play area called Scotty’s Playhouse, provide sports camps for 100′s of kids, college scholarships for local high school seniors, and support for families in need during a life-threatening medical crisis.
